台北市警方在3日晚間接獲張友驊妻子報案，夫妻兩人在吳興街上行走，張友驊突然倒下重創頭部，救護人員抵達時，他已經沒有呼吸心跳，經救護人員緊急施行心肺復甦及AED救治，恢復自主呼吸，但仍無意識，送往北醫急救，沒想到，今日傳出張友驊逝世消息後，北醫也證實這件事，不過對於其他詳細事件不做回應。
媒體人陳琴富晚間在臉書發文「送友驊，兄弟走好」，透露自己在國慶日時見到張友驊一面，當時他見對方不斷流淚，「許是有太多的無奈，太多的不捨」，卻沒想到這是兩人最後一面。據了解，張友驊的告別式，將在10月30日的上午9點至11點間舉行。
