根據監視系統顯示，稍早共有7支國道1698監視器轉向台北101，聚焦煙火表演，未能及時監控該路段的交通狀況。雖然當時車流意外稀少，但若發生車禍或其他意外，後果恐難以想像。
監視器的首要任務是維護道路安全，此事件反映出管理機制的疏漏，有人擔憂此舉可能造成潛在危險，呼籲交通單位應提高警覺，確保公共安全不因節慶活動而疏忽。
